Establishment of the Business
Lion Citizens Supported Living Ltd was founded by Babacarr Njie, aka Ali during the latter part of 2025. Babacarr was first introduced to Care /Support at a very early age and during his teens he was tasked to look after a frail and ageing relative. It was during this time that his passion for caring and aiding the vulnerable, frail, and less able people with special needs was born. He immigrated to the United Kingdom and decided to pursue a career in Carpentry(joinery), but the desire to teach and look after people with special needs remained steadfast in his mind. In 2016 he suffered a work related injury, forcing him to re-evaluate his career choice as his job was labour intensive and his injury rendered him unable to continue working in the Carpentry and Timber frame(cassettes) business for internal housing construction.
During this time Babacarr sought employment in the Care Industry and started working for a Company based in Oxfordshire who specialises in offering Support to individuals with Autism/neuro diverse and various challenges in the Spectrum. This gave him an insight into the very broad spectrum within the Care sector. As part of the mandatory training he was tasked to do numerous learning courses both online and Face to Face. Since his re-introduction into Care and Supported living back in 2016, he never looked back. Babacarr went on to work in Domiciliary Care setting, Nursing Homes, Home Based Care, Secure Units to name a few. Each of the Companies had a requirement for Mandatory training of the basic Food and Hygiene Courses, Medication Administration, Autism Awareness, to name but a few.
After successfully completing his NVQ ‘s, he embarked on completing his NVQ5 which he is hoping to complete very soon. On one of his most recent assignments is after a mother of a citizen with complex need called Babacarr to come back and help manage her son before being sectioned again as all companies are failing on them, Babacarr witnessed that the same citizen was subjected to change hands in more than 6 Companies over a very short period of time. This caused the citizen endless distress and uproar as his anxiety and fear for change made it difficult for him to settle and saw a deterioration in his mental health and well being. As such Babacarr saw the need within the Industry for more Support workers and Caregivers, he decided to start his own Company, and this is where Lion Citizens Supported Living Ltd was birthed.
